La Balma is a cooperative housing project based on a usufruct model that promotes a fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable way of living. Located in the Poblenou neighborhood, the building is designed as an open and permeable structure that encourages community life through shared spaces such as the kitchen, laundry room, and multipurpose hall. The architectural strategy favors dry construction using industrialized systems and natural materials like wood, which reduce environmental impact and improve thermal comfort. The exposed structure, visible installations, and simple finishes reflect a commitment to austerity and constructive transparency. La Balma not only provides decent housing but also fosters new social bonds and collective lifestyles deeply rooted in the local territory.
