The project starts from a simple question: how can a building designed to take care of people also take care of its environment, its materials and its own future?

Beyond solving the functional needs of a health center, the project wants to create a quiet, close and humane place. Natural light, wood, vegetation and a sequence of patios give shape to the daily experience of the building and bring nature closer to the spaces of waiting, passage and recovery.

The patios become the heart of the project. They make light reach the most interior spaces, help people to orient themselves and offer moments of pause along the route.

This same will to care extends to the way the building is constructed.

Deciduous trees filter the sun to the rhythm of the seasons and make the climate, the passage of time and the landscape part of the architecture.

The laminated wood (CLT) structure, cork insulation, natural materials and dry construction systems reduce unnecessary layers and allow the building to be understood as a set of elements that, in the future, can be separated, reused or transformed.

Son Ferriol is not only about how a health center works today, but also about the relationship it establishes between people, nature and resources over time.

A building conceived as a living system: warm, adaptable and responsible, designed to take care of the people who live in it and leave the smallest possible footprint.
