La Balma, award for the best building in new construction of the #PremiosAVS.
Our Poblenou project has been awarded by the AVS Gestores Públicos. The jury valued “the self-management of the model, the ductility of housing and the different environmental strategies of energy efficiency, materials and waste used.” It is the third recognition that this project receives in 2022, after being selected by the #PremisFAD and the Iberoamerican Biennial of Architecture.

La Balma began construction in 2019 and since July 2021 has hosted 20 cohabitation units in the Poblenou neighborhood of Barcelona. It was our first cooperative housing project in the transfer of the use of new construction, and the first carried out by #LaConstructiva, the first non-profit services cooperative oriented to the construction of such housing and promoted by Techo Cívico. It is built on municipal land of Barcelona City Council and is designed through a participatory process with user partners by the cooperative architecture studios of Lacol and the Boqueria Taller.
