Cycle on Housing and Social Rights at the URV

Repoblem

On October 30th, our partner Ricard Grau, from Laboqueria Arquitectura, took part in the Cycle on Housing and Social Rights organized by the Rovira i Virgili University (URV).

The event was an inspiring space for exchange and debate, where key questions were addressed about how we live, how we build, and how we can create a future based on territory, sustainability, and people. We thank the URV and everyone who attended for their interest and warm welcome — a great success!

During the session, we presented some of the Research projects we are promoting from the studio, which exemplify our way of understanding architecture as a tool for social transformation.

Among them are Repoblem and Territori de Vincles, which work to encourage rural repopulation and ensure dignified access to housing through cooperative and community-based models that place people and the territory at the centre. These projects aim to revitalise villages and small towns through sustainable, accessible housing proposals rooted in the local context.

We also shared Redó, an initiative focused on circular construction and the reuse of materials, which promotes waste reduction and lower environmental impact while generating employment and social opportunities. Through this project, Laboqueria rethinks construction processes and drives a fairer, more efficient, and collaborative model within the sector.
