Living, eating and working are three basic affirmations in the life of any person. In an urban context, these three actions usually take place in different spaces: we sleep at home, we eat in the street and we work, in many cases, in an office. In the rural context this is not usually, nor has it been, the most usual. Life in the countryside means that these three actions can be in the same place, and this is the peculiarity of the project of a new winery in Penedés.
The project starts from the idea of reinterpreting the farmhouse in all its senses, from morphologically to functionally. The daily life rooted in a farmhouse means that the three actions can be located under the same architectural structure. Magnetic and physical epicenter of the field, the farmhouse acts as a central architectural element of all life: it is where the cultivated food is stored and collected, it is where it is worked (in many cases) and it is where you live: you eat and sleep . The project also includes one more ingredient: research and development. A research area focused on cava production.
