Features of the project

The project for the new music school of Sants conforms to the current urban planning. Taking into account the alignments, the volumetricity and the maximum construction, it strives to grow a volume with these starting conditions. Given the importance of the program (especially on the first floor), the strategy is to generate a second facade around the previously approved basic project that will reduce the energy demand both in winter and summer to achieve a tempered climate with very little energy input. This double skin allows for a space of transition and waiting areas when there is a class exchange, while also allowing the group to be unified: to provide a neighborhood stairway with the distinction of slabs to take to the facades neighbors with the idea of ​​separating from the ground floor that solves the entrance of the school, the commercial premises, the pre-existing façade to maintain and the ET.
